We are the AOP Team, dedicated to the development of a remote-controlled vehicle. However, true remote control is impossible without autonomy. Recognizing that our current road infrastructure is not fully equipped for such advancements, we aim to outline the essential improvements needed to enhance road safety and efficiency.


The development of autonomous transport requires significant changes in the infrastructure. It requires updated roads, modern road signs, markings, and traffic lights that will be understandable to computer vision systems. Roads should be equipped with sensors that collect data on traffic conditions and transmit them to vehicles, which will increase traffic safety and efficiency.


The integration of Vehicle-to-Infrastructure (V2I) communication systems will allow cars to interact with the infrastructure, transmitting information about road conditions and traffic light signals directly to the control system of the autonomous vehicle. This will reduce the number of accidents and ensure a continuous flow of information.


The creation of special lanes for autonomous vehicles will help their safe and efficient movement, minimizing interaction with traditional cars, especially in conditions of heavy urban traffic. In addition, it is necessary to expand the network of charging stations for electric vehicles, which will reduce idle time and increase their efficiency.


The development of new standards and regulations will govern the use of autonomous vehicles, including liability for accidents and traffic regulations. Harmonization of these standards at the international level will ensure the smooth movement of autonomous vehicles between countries.


In general, supporting autonomous transport requires complex changes: modernization of roads, implementation of V2I communication systems, creation of special lanes, expansion of the network of charging stations, and development of the relevant legal framework. This will ensure the safety and efficiency of movement, contributing to the development of a modern transport system.
